I’m excited to share BIG news with all of you.
I am moving to Australia. Yes! The land down under where I will get to see Kangaroos, Koalas and most importantly Masterchef Australia. In my case, the priorities will always be food. Lol.
This move was pending for considerable time because of my impending spouse visa. I’m really happy to join my husband after being months apart. There was lots of jumping around once I got the e-mail that the visa was granted! Alhamdullilah.
Just some basic updates from my end:
- I am going to settle in Sydney. I am so thrilled to be going there because from the pictures (and Masterchef Australia) it looks gorgeous. Hello Sydney Opera House!
- Last month has been all about packing, taking a nap, packing, taking more naps and then some more packing. It’s physically and emotionally exhausting to condense your life in cartons. I am a person who thinks ten times before buying something but it’s always such a surprise to see how much stuff has accumulated over the years.
- I am going to be away from the blog for a month or two. I am going to keep posting my monthly favorites, dawat menu and weekly menu planner but there is going to be a break for new recipes and other stories. Just need time to settle, come up with a routine, and of course spend time with the husband. Once I have a workspace setup there, I will start sharing recipes and all sorts of random experiences of settling into expat life.
- My flight is in the first week of April, and you can see updates on FB & Instagram. I am spending the last couple of days packing, meeting family and friends, eating out at my favourite places in town and just savouring Karachi. I am going to keep on visiting (of course!), but I am not sure when it’s going to be so just making the most of my time here.
This is an entirely new chapter in my life, and it’s going to be exciting and challenging at the same time. I am hoping that all goes well, InshAllah. Do say a little prayer for us, as we settle in our new lives.
