Sweeten up your breakfast with Honey!

Sweeten up your breakfast with pure bee honey!

If I skip breakfast, it’s like my entire day just starts off on the wrong foot. My stomach starts growling at 12 pm and then I inevitably over eat at lunch time, feeling tired the entire day. So whether it is cake rusk (our Desi papay) with chai or buttered toast I always have something to eat in the morning.

I know it can be difficult to cook something up but a proper meal at the start of the day gives energy, controls appetite and just keeps you in a better mood all day long. I am partnering with Langnese honey to give you suggestions on quick ways to make breakfast in a jiffy. Langnese is a German brand and one of the oldest brands of honey available in Pakistan. It’s pure, natural and free from preservatives. Plus they have a wide range of honey varieties, including the basic ‘Natural Bee Honey’ and Acacia, Forest, Black Forest and Royal Jelly.

  1. Toast with Butter & Honey

Buttered toast is one of the quickest breakfasts to make, and its simplicity is what makes it so delicious. Having the same butter on a daily basis can get boring so this time around add a drizzle of Langnese forest honey. This particular honey has been collected by bees in the forest; from pine trees and leaf trees, which gives it a dark color and unique flavor. Take an extra minute, and slice up banana’s and peaches for more flavor. Or if you want to again switch the butter, try jam or cream cheese. YUM!

  1. Oatmeal

Oats take minutes to cook, especially the instant oats. Just place oats, milk and a pinch of cinnamon in a saucepan to cook. They will be ready in the amount of time it takes to brush your teeth and wash your face. Serve hot or cold, and sweeten with Langnese honey, crushed nuts and fresh fruit. If you are feeling particularly decadent you can caramelize honey, and grill peaches in it. Find out how to do that with this video from Bon Appetit.

  1. Yoghurt with Grilled Fruit & Honey

Another delicious AND healthy breakfast is yoghurt. It’s an excellent source of healthy fat, calcium and protein plus it keeps you full. That’s why it’s highly recommended to have yoghurt for Sehri in Ramazan.

It can get boring on its own, but there are so many ways you can add variety. Sweeten with Langnese honey – again switch up the varieties to give a different taste. Add crunch in the form of granola or crushed nuts or perhaps even your favorite cereal (preferably whole-grain). Chia seeds and flax seeds are also a great option. Just make sure you crush the latter before adding. Plus you can add some peaches or banana’s or berries for your daily serving of fruit.

Just in case you don’t have time to sit down and eat, add all the above ingredients in blender. Give it a pulse, and there you have your smoothie on the go!

This post is sponsored by Langnese Honey for World Honey Bee day. I received a parcel of their pure bee honey & specialty forest honey. Honeybees don’t just provide us honey, but they are extremely important for all our crops & our ecosystem. They are the world’s biggest pollinators and bring in $15 billion per year in crop value. Let’s honor them for this contribution to our daily lives.
